Mountbatten

Read: Plan your care

Whether you or a loved one are facing the final years of your life, we are here to offer you support when you need it most. People access our services with a range of illnesses, including cancer, dementia, heart failure, Motor Neurone Disease and also frailty and old age.

Whatever illness you are facing, our specialist Mountbatten Nurses and Carers will be at your side; whether in the comfort of your own home, in a care home or at the local hospital – wherever you prefer to receive care at the end of life. Most of our support takes place across the , backed up by our 16-bed hospice ward where many people receive our expert care and respite before returning to their own homes.

You may also receive  a range of care and services within our John Cheverton Centre, which is on the hospice site and which is also home to the Mountbatten Café, art gallery and beautiful gardens which are all open to the general public. Wherever you are cared for, our aim is to help you be free of pain and other symptoms, so every day can be lived as fully as possible and time can be spent with friends and family creating good memories together.

Family members and friends are also supported through their grief, with bereavement support available to anyone who needs it, whether or not Mountbatten has been previously been involved.

Our services are free to those who need them, thanks to the incredible support of our Island community who tirelessly fundraise, give generous donations, leave gifts in their Wills, support our network of charity shops and offer their time and skills through volunteering.
